  1. Dear David,

the Priority Matrix is ordered in a different way as in Stephen Covey’s book

Quadrant I – Non Urgent AND Important
Quadrant II – Urgent AND Important

while in Priority Matrix, the four quadrants’ default labels are:

Quadrant I – Urgent AND Important
Quadrant II – Non Urgent AND Important

Is there e reason for this?

  2. Dear Andreas,

    Indeed there is.
We usually read from left to right and top to bottom (not true for some languages though) and thus we think that you should read the most important things first: Important and Non urgent as it is the things you should definitely think to first. It is anticipation and planning and this will lead you to spend less time in the Important and Urgent quadrant.
Besides, it lets you balance the true Urgency of the urgent tasks in the next quadrant, as the really important things will still be in you mind.
It is a design decision on our side, based on field experience.
    I hope this makes sense.

    Kind regards,
