1000 views in 20 days, including Xmas season

Let’s celebrate a first milestone.

Yesterday we reached 1000 views on the website juste about 20 days after we launched the site.

Well, not so much as a record for advertisement but it’s always a nice feeling to see that people you trust in your professional network are interested by what you’re doing. Thanks for that.

Aside from that, which would normally not require a post, I was asking myself: what should I do to make it 10 times bigger ?

The big challenge is how to move from a concerned curiosity to engaged readers and try to find angles on our day to day work problems that you’re not seeing elsewhere.

Current questions:

– are you interested in daily news ? is a blog the right space to do that, or more probably just use twitter for this ?

– are you interested in more ‘operational’ post, like detailed app review for day to day business ?

– are you interested in more ‘management and productivity’ posts, but which require a lot more time to think about them to actually post something that could be ‘smart’ enough to actually raise your interest ?

– what’s the update rate that we should have at BeesApps to make you come over as one of your ‘reading’ favorite ? every day ? every week. At first I was thinking that an interesting post per week was already quite a challenge in the long run, but the more I think of it, the more I think our fast and connected world requires a more frequent discussion.

And there I am, former exec, now brave developer, asking myself how I can share with you in an efficient manner to raise your interest without spending all my development time on the issue.

I have to admit I did a lot of work to mostly automatize my information supply chain to the different broadcast channel but I still don’t have the right information production workflow to actually share more easily with you. It’s not so much a matter of tools as I can post on the blog from anywhere or any application without even connecting to it, but rather more a question of how much should I share :

– retweet like kind of post, I think it lowers the value f the blog by just being a link provider

– share with a small comment in less than 5 lines. Difficult to bring some ‘intelligence’ to you. Or I can bring some interesting angles, but you’ll have to get the details by yourselves. How do you like the idea of it ?

– do as i do now which is spend roughly 1 hour per post (including filtering because I have to find more interesting news for you) but just post once every 4 days ?

I guess even though I’m not that old, I’m still not use to the Just Share tweeter experience but I’m working on it.
